Clean Wood Siding Without Damaging Paint

Wood stain is one of the most difficult stains to remove but a variety of products will take wood stain off your vinyl siding without harming it.

Point your pivotpro hit the trigger and start spraying cleansing water against your dirty wood siding. Use a cleaner specifically designed for cleaning siding and always check the label to make sure it s safe for wood. Step 1 put on rubber gloves. Use a spray bottle to squirt cleaner onto the grimier spots and scrub with a soft brush.

At 46 inches in. Turn the hose end sprayer back to the light hose spray setting. Insert the detergent tip which is often black into the pressure washer wand and apply detergent as needed. Clean the soap and remaining grime off the siding.

Spray grimier spots with a siding cleaner and brush. Pressure washing will pull stain right off of wood surfaces. Maybe that s what you are going for but if you intend to keep stain on wood don t use a pressure washer to clean it. After scrubbing thoroughly make sure to rinse the cleaner with a garden hose.

Work down from the roofline taking on one 10 foot square section at a time. Mix 3 4 cup of oxalic acid granules and 1 gallon of hot water. Hold the hose in one spot for about 20 seconds before moving on to another part of the siding. Even after pressure washing you may still find that a thin layer of dirt remains on the siding.

Wash the siding area with the pressure washer. Stand roughly 4 feet away from the cedar while washing. Rinse the siding using the pressure.
